Tom Robins is a dedicated leader who prioritizes responsiveness to the neighbors he serves.
With a track record of thoughtful problem-solving, Tom brings energy and commitment to representing his neighbors on Edmond City Council.
Elected to the Edmond City Council in 2023, Tom has consistently championed initiatives that make a real difference in the lives of Edmond residents. He successfully secured paid time off for first responder families welcoming a new child, ensuring these heroes have the support they need during life’s most important moments.
Tom is an advocate for Edmond citizens. After hearing concerns from neighbors, he stood alone on the City Council in voting against raising water rates.
When a property owner failed to properly maintain housing for Edmond veterans, Tom partnered with veterans and utilized City Council authority to bring them to court, standing up for those who served our country.
Tom’s leadership extends to breaking through bureaucratic barriers. He was a steadfast supporter of the Uncommon Ground Sculpture Park, working to revive this historic community project and bring it back on track for a vote.
Championing fellow citizens, Tom advocated for the return of in-person utility customer service, ensuring residents can receive face-to-face assistance – a service that will be reinstated by the end of summer.
Tom declined city staff requests to expand vehicle fleet services, instead voted to fund critical improvements in city parks, such as the baseball fields at A.C. Caplinger Park.
Tom’s care for all Edmond residents is evident in his support for seniors. He voted to expand Edmond Mobile Meals, ensuring every senior in Edmond has access to a warm meal and a friendly smile.
Beyond his public service, Tom is a successful business owner and a nationally recognized safety leader. He created an award-winning program that teaches new teen drivers how to share the road safely with first responders and road workers.
Tom’s experience also includes serving as Oklahoma’s Deputy Secretary of Energy, where he implemented policies to enhance Oklahoma’s energy production.
Earlier in his career, he worked on the United States Senate Judiciary Committee staff, during the confirmation hearings of Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Tom and his wife, Emily, are proud parents of three active children who attend Edmond Public Schools. For the Robins family, Edmond isn’t just a place on the map – it’s home.
